
In today’s world government agencies and civil organizations are expected to ensure an adequate flow of services without disruption and under any circumstances. Organizations are required to continue functioning and quickly recover after natural or manmade disasters.
Realistic threat assessment and understanding that city and business centers are extremely vulnerable to either natural or manmade disasters, result in migration of data and computing centers to remote, allegedly “off the bitten track” locations.
Post 9/11 trauma created an increasing demand for highly protected facilities, but, as time passes, the simplistic “cost” model is taking over again. Current investment in facility protection seems inadequate compared to investments in other components and so becomes the weakest link in the critical assets protection chain.
